We are a group of believers who meet together to glorify God.

We do this by working diligently to:

To know Christ

Through a growing relationship with Him by means of a purposeful application of the teaching of His Word to our lives.

To make Christ known

Through telling others the good news of Jesus Christ and the life available through Him.

Our Vision

At Village Baptist Church we have a dream: not of what is, but of what can, and with God’s help, will be. Our vision is a church that glorifies God in the following ways:

We want to be a concerned church
With a vision to reach an ever increasing percentage of the people in the South Lake, North Newton and Kankakee counties with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We want to be a church of resources
With a vision to have facilities and ministries that purposefully and effectively provide the means to help entire families to progress toward what God wants them to be.

We want to be an equipping church
A church that moves its members toward maturity and full participation within the life and ministry of this church.

We want to be a reflecting church
A church that reflects the love and righteousness of Jesus Christ, thus a church that attracts others to the hope and grace that comes only through an honest growing relationship with its Savior.

We want to be a helping church
Our vision is to be known to be a church where people can go to get genuine, honest, lasting help.

We want to be a sending church
A church with a vision to impact the world. A church that works hard at sending out and supporting laborer/ambassadors to the uttermost part of the world.

We want to be a spiritually mature church
A church that works to be a model and help to other churches.

That is our dream, that is our vision. We stand together, asking God to help us realize this dream. We invite you to consider becoming a part of this vision.

An Invitation

We believe that there is a God in heaven – Who is absolutely good and Who is absolutely in control. He has revealed Himself to us through the Book that we call the Bible, and He has sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the debt for our sin by means of His death on a cross. That this is true is proved by His resurrection.

Our response to God’s provision involves turning from our sinful self-centeredness, and by faith trusting God’s provision.

We invite you to place your trust in Jesus’ payment for your sin, and thus enter into a relationship with Him that will last forever.
